Laura Best practices immigration and refugee law. She regularly appears before all divisions of the Immigration and Refugee Board of Canada and the Federal Court. She successfully assists clients with all types of in Canada and overseas applications for temporary residence, immigration, refugee and citizenship matters.
Ms. Best received her Juris Doctor and Masters in International Relations with Honours from the University of Toronto in 2009. She was then called to the bar in both Ontario and British Columbia. Her undergraduate from the University of British Columbia focused on International Relations. She has lived in France, Israel and Mexico.
Ms. Best is also a regular presenter at Canadian Bar Association continuing education seminars. She is currently the Secretary of the Refugee Lawyers Group, Canadian Bar Association BC Branch. She sits on the Board of Directors of the Vancouver Association for Survivors of Torture.
