Canadian Family Sponsorship Appeal Lawyers
Canadian citizens and permanent resident sponsors can, in most cases, appeal a denied family sponsorship application to the Immigration Appeal Division (IAD), a division within the Immigration and Refugee Board of Canada (IRB).
At Embarkation Law Group, our experienced Vancouver immigration appeal lawyers represent clients nationwide in IAD proceedings, including, but not limited to, the following:
- Sponsorship appeals: If you have sponsored a spouse, partner, child or other family member for permanent residence in Canada and he or she has been found inadmissible on any grounds, you may be entitled to appeal that decision to the IAD.
- Removal order appeals: If you are a permanent resident of Canada and the government is attempting to remove you for criminal or other inadmissibility reasons, you may be entitled to an IAD appeal on humanitarian and compassionate grounds.
Foreign nationals and permanent residents who have been convicted of particularly serious crimes or found inadmissible on security grounds do not have access to the IAD. People in these circumstances may have access to the Immigration Division or the Federal Court.
Our lawyers can advise you on whether an immigration appeal is appropriate for your circumstances, and we can offer professional, reliable representation in these proceedings.
